Crops, printing and more

I promised to provide links to these two documents that I found rather interesting. The first is a Crop Factor Calculator. You could use this to find your True Focal Length. The author (David Coleman) states by way of introduction …

“A 50mm lens isn’t always a 50mm lens — at least, not in terms of what you see through the viewfinder. Here is how to calculate exactly what field of view and depth of field your lens will produce across different sensor sizes.”

The second (by the same author) is a Print & Crop Navigator, which he introduces by saying …

“If your camera shoots 3:2 but you buy an 8×10 frame, you’re going to lose 16% of your image. Use this navigator to find the “Perfect Fit” print sizes for your specific camera sensor.”

I hope you find these two articles as interesting and useful as I did.
